Truth about online gaming addiction

Online games these days are abundant. It has becoming an addiction among innocent young people. And not only young ones even adults. The problem is not restricted to young people and we all know that also parents are hooked on these things.

I want to share this article because I myself have a loving husband who happens to love or became hooked to online gaming. Yes, he is 27 years old and loves to play online games. I have tried it a couple of times but was bored except for farmville and farmtown...I know and I admit Im also an addict but in a good farmer way. At least from those games Ill be able to know how to plant crops and raise animals by myself. Am I being defensive already? Haha...

I dont know why but I just dont like games that my husband play. Actually, its a riot game. A kind of game in which network of players interact with each other to achieve goals and missions. Its a game where there is fighting and killing. That is why they called it a riot game. They even purchase some items online for their characters. Thats how people play this game. Buying items for their characters or for their champions. They even use ventrilo device in order for them to talk freely to each other similar to a telephone or a conference call.

My husband loves to play this kind of game because according to him its his stress reliever and I allow him from playing because its his outlet from the occasional bad day from work. But despite all these, he knows when to stop and doesnt neglects household chores. Even when tired from work he plays too much without getting enough rest. This is another sign of addiction that I noticed from my husband.

While sometimes losing a battle can even result from anger or even worst depression. I thank him for not neglecting his family and even his 7month old baby. He even takes care of DJ while playing. Multitasking while playing. Kissing me on a victorious battle is one way that he feels good about the fulfillment he made. And sometimes angry or feels depress when someone killed his champion. Haha...sorry bhe!

His online gaming status, "left hand baby - right hand mouse". So, is this enough proof that he is indeed one of the online gaming addicts? Haha...Just laughing it out!

The problem of these online gamers is they intend to neglect more of their important tasks such as work and other social activities. So, does this really mean that online gaming addiction is as much the same as substance addiction? I hope not. Studies shows more than 20 suicides from online gaming and also can lead to psychological disorders.

I have nothing against online gaming. I just want people to know that they have other important priorities other than this. They should set aside quality time for their families and only use their spare time on not so important activities such as this.
